At the end of the day it’s a mess, Obama looks like an asshole and he doesn’t like it. He wants a bill, and he wants it signed no matter what! Does this sound like this legistlation is getting the appropriate attention and understanding it deserves? Hello Fucko !!!! You Home???? we’re talking 1/6 of the economy. Your ego is tarnished well boo fucking who. You say transparency yet you silence those who oppose you…BTW the number are growing and after you fuck the health care up your days will be numbered. Fall 2010 is going to be a new congress and senate…you will be impeached on the grounds of misleading the American People. The people you were voted into office to represent.

Accountability is a personal responsibility, it is not a constitutional right. Not one place in our Constitution does it say the government is responsible for our healthcare. Would it be nice to participate with a company so healthcare can be purchased at a group rate? Thus making healthcare cheaper? Absolutely…Hmmmmm you say you don’t have a job???? That sucks, neither do I right now (or some democratic senators in fall 2010), or health coverage. If Washington and the Obama boys got their heads out of their asses they would see that if they put people to work in good paying jobs, across the board, people could get covered (healthcare) through their companies. BUT that picture is too big to paint for our self anointed. Talk about narrow-minded!

I am a constituent and I have several concerns that I will be eyeing in 2010. I have always been an independent and usually leaned democrat. When you were appointed into office I was very happy to have a supporter of 2nd amendment rights representing me. I support 2nd amendment right, I see now that there is little mention of this by you.
My biggest concern in healthcare, currently I have no healthcare coverage for family or myself. Fortunately we are a fairly healthy bunch. Let me cut to the chase…I am dead set against all of the healthcare bills that is going before the senate. I will vote against anyone in New York who supports this measure. This “Obama care”, “Pelosi care” whatever you want to call it is financially detrimental to our economy. We can’t afford this, you know it and so does everyone else. This is Washington politics at it’s best. If my senators focused on the economy and putting their people back to work in good paying jobs the numbers of people with out healthcare would dwindle. The value of our dollar is crashing and has been for the last nine (9) years. Can a lot of this be blamed on Bush? Absolutely, but you are the people in power and you people (democrats) asked for the job.
It bothers me when I see the party of my father and grandfather look like a bunch of bumbling fools. The only people who are making any sense of this are the fiscal conservatives. I urge you to stand up and vote against this healthcare bill. Put our people back to work, don’t enable them on a system that will be total shit…loaded with bureaucracy and insanity. Do not be part of this. A bill of this magnitude needs to take time and cannot be “pushed through” the process while negotiations take place behind closed doors. By keeping other senators and congressmen and women out of these deliberations you are not allowing the people who you represent to speak. The American people are listening, and watching.
Some times standing in the face of adversity is the most position a person can make, not going along with the crowd, and doing the right thing is what makes a great person. I urge you Senator Gillibrand do the right thing!!! The people are watching and listening and so am I. I am a veteran of the US Marine Corps and the National Guard I know what it is like to stand up for what you believe it.

I followed the last presidential election closely, I was sick of Bush and had little confidence in McCain …Palin I won’t even look at…voting wise LOL. Another intersting concept is winning the war in Afghanistan, you put General McChrystal in charge of winning the war. Where in the hell do you think the Taliban are essentially going to go? across the border in to Afghanistan. If we had enough people there we could head this off and basically force the Taliban and Al Qaeda to fight for once instead of disappearing across the border. I am very proud of the President…WHY it won it is beyond me. I’m still trying to figure what he exactly did in last 9 months that possibly warranted this award. Consulation prize for losing the Olympics? I would me much more proud of him if he won the “Nobel Prize for creating jobs and putting people to work!!!!” Or maybe even the “Nobel Prize for What is our plan in Afghanistan our guys are getting shot at and need reinforcements.” There is no prize for that I am being not being serious. Hey listen it’s a great accomplishment, but Obama is not a peacemaker, he is a great orator. Hell I believed the bullshit and I certainly wouldn’t vote for another Clinton especially Hillary. The Clinton’s are crafty people and Ms Clinton is not out of the future race for President, I think 2012 will be an interesting year. If Mr. Obama wants to get another term he better start putting people to work, make jobs happen. Leave this healthcare initiative alone, most of the people in this country don’t want it because we are going to be taxed to death!!!! Which in that case would make what Rep Joe Wilson said a truth be when he said “you lie”. I would love to see that apology not from the President because I believe he would probably offer one anyway. I have become a member of the unemployed, currently living off the system at $365.00 a week…ok maybe just breathing by. I went from a 6 figure salary to this pertinence. I have networked, volunteered, hit the gym but the worst part about this is dealing with these recruiters aka headhunters. Right now their business is booming and they are having the time of their lives. I speak to roughly 8-12 different recruiters each week, the conclusion I have come to is that they are full of shit. Promises, promises and promises then they come to pick your brain.

When I got laid off my company had a placement firm in place to assist in my transition. This costs roughly $3500.00 per person. They are supposed to assist in the transition to unemployment…what transition is there? You collect unemployment and HR goes over that during the separation interview. You do it online and it take approximately 10 minutes. They are also supposed to set you up with job interviews. The firm that was hired by my former company was supposed to be a high end firm with loads of contacts, and job leads…there were 15 jobs posted on their website one job that remotely matched mine and was in the New York area definitely not a fit. the others were scattered around the country. My firm laid off over 200 people since January all these people did was reformat my resume and I had to pull teeth to get that done. Do the math $3500.00 x 200 = $700.000.00. What my firm would’ve done is add this money to my severance package. The other quirk I found with this “high end firm” was that I had to totally explain my job, in great detail. My HR department told me that these guys were the best in the business…you know what they say about HR right? Worthless.

I have spoken to recruiters that are located in my area but mostly all over the country. Imagine a guy in North Dakota trying to tell me about NYCDOB building codes. It’s happening everyday folks, this is my reality. I laugh about it and at this point I just want to talk to firms directly and not deal with recruiters. It’s a very lucrative set up, a company hires these guys to fill a vacancy in their company, say they are looking to pay $100k the head hunter makes roughly $10k BUT if he markets the job as a $80k salary guess who gets $20k? The head hunter. In a market like this they can hold the cards, when times are good people aren’t going to leave a good job for a “possibility” of a good job and it’s not good business.

It is better to be honest with the company you are interviewing with, it is for your benefit. An employer wants a good fit, even if you state you are unexperienced at something but willing to learn and try different means and methods then you are ahead of the game. The employer will be inclined to hire you, believe me he doesn’t want to go through this again 3 months down the road.

They say the jobs are out there , I haven’t seen them. well, maybe a few but for the most part I see recruiters posting the same job every couple of months in an effort to build their contacts. I have one joker from Boston that calls me and asks me if I know anyone looking for a job. I said “WTF about me fucko? I haven’t heard from, him in a bit, but he called me roughly 4 times. I went to a career fair today in Huntington, Long Island it was pathetic there were 9 companies there two of the organizations being represented were: the National Guard, and the US Army…the other seven were lame. Insurance agencies looking for people / unfortunates to do their grunt work. The young lady told me there is a lot of footwork entailed and basically they give you no leads, you have to rely on your friends and family and former colleagues and pester the living shit out of them in this economy. There is a paid training period, approximately 2 weeks at a hefty $400.00 a week. Be careful where you spend your time find out what firms are going to be present at the career fair you decide to attend. Be forewarned!!!! And also watch for the cheeseballs who hang outside these fairs with their ponzi schemes about getting rich overnight.

The current president is focused on bending over for everyone (i.e. the UN all this week, and his speeches….”bad America” “Previous administrations actions or lack of” Hey pal I voted for you, but you need to get past that because YOU are steering the ship. This is YOUR show. We originally went into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden for the September 11th atrocities. Then our focus shifted to establishing a democratic country in a country that can’t get out of its own way. The key question/fact is Al Qaeda/Taliban are playing a mean game of border war, they come in, cause destruction, mount small attacks, take out a few people who oppose their causes then go back across the border. The US & NATO pursues the bad guys BUT has to stop before crossing into the border (I’m not talking about drones, I’m talking about troops). After doing that for a couple of years one must take into account the definition of insanity~ doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

The original cause was to find the people who attacked us and “bring them to justice” yada yada. I prefer take them out quickly, I don’t want people living in a prison for the rest of their life on my dime while liberals are concerned with the POWs rights. Pakistan was always a breeding ground for these extremists and they can’t be trusted, they are more corrupt, and can’t get out of their own way henceforth are a danger to my guys over there. Bin Laden is most likely dead, I don’t trust any of these recordings that you see only because this stuff can be dubbed and rearranged to a point where you have no idea what you are listening to…the bad guys have resources too and they are not stupid. They are playing the game and Obama has done nothing to counter it, the man speaks well but hasn’t put anything into action this is part of the dilemma, adding 21000 troops for a short time was not going to have an effect in Afghanistan, You need more and if you continue in this manner more are needed, no rock must be left unturned, their resolve must be broken. They are no more that mere criminals, who prey on fear half the people writing on here sound like a bunch of wimps. I remember 911 all too well I spent the first 5 days after the attacks burning steel and bagging remains. I did what I know was right, and I know who we are dealing with. Our focus needs to be on bringing this war to its next chapter, the chapter after that has to be our exit strategy. There is none.

For the record I voted for Obama, I am unemployed with no health insurance I could care less about the liberalized social medicine, and I don’t want the government in my business. Put your words into actions, healthcare isn’t going anywhere, they’ll be arguing about it for another 50 years. The key is to get a job with benefits and go to work….helluva concept eh? The American people obviously feel the same way. More focus should be put on what we are going to in Afghanistan like he promised in his campaign speeches while he was blaming Bush for his failed policies…well Mr. Obama your policies/initiatives are starting to weaken and show stress cracks.

BTW… because I disagree with the President’s policies does that make me a racist? It seems like it was easier when there was a white guy in the office because I could just say what a moron etc?

Where is Congress? Why is this going on? These people are not “detainees” they are POWs. Wrong place , wrong time chances are you are up to no good. Another question? Where in the hell is Hillary Clinton? You know the former senator from NY who “fought so hard for the victims families” I can’t believe she is sitting by idly while the victims families in the state she use to represent are now paying for these POWs legal bills with their tax dollars.
